Is the Black Coloring Recognized by Kennel Clubs Like AKC?
Before we discuss whether Pitbulls’ black coloring is recognized by various kennel clubs, let me first clarify that these clubs do not consider “Pitbull” as a dog breed. This is because Pitbull is just an umbrella name used to address many purebred and mixed dogs.
Since black Pitbulls are common offsprings of the American Staffordshire Terrier and American Pitbull Terrier, our discussion will focus on their breed standard colors according to different kennel clubs.
American Pitbull Terrier
The American Pitbull Terrier is recognized by the United Kennel Club (UKC) in the year 1898. It has registration number 1, which was assigned by the UKC founder C. Z. Bennett.
